Install the HP Smart app

Get the HP Smart app for Android, Apple iOS or iPadOS, Windows, and macOS.

Scan to Email (HP Smart App)

  5. After the first side has been scanned, remove the pages from the ADF output tray.

  6. Pages are reloaded into the ADF with the same leading edge without flipping them or changing their order. You may need to rotate the page first.

How do I scan from the printer control panel?

Select a scan function from the printer control panel, and then send the scan to the desired destination.

Some scanning features first need to be set up in the software or the printerEmbedded Web Server (EWS). Scanning features vary by printer.

  • Scan to computer: Download HP Easy Start from123.hp.com/setupAnd install full-featured software and drivers. Return to the printer control panel, select Scan Options, select your computer, and send the scan to your computer. For macOS, use the HP Smart app to scan to a computer.

  • Scan to Email: Configure email destinations in the EWS, or using the Scan to Email wizard in the HP software. When setup is complete, return to the printer control panel, select a scan option, and then scan directly from the printer to an email destination. Why can't I connect to a wireless printer or scan over the network?

If the printer cannot be found or wireless print jobs fail during software installation, check for network issues and setup requirements.
